Annual General Meeting Elections
The parish held its annual general meeting on Sunday, 18 March, 2018, and elected or re-elected the following:
Jeff Campbell,
James Cochran,
Mary Ann Mackrell,
Sally Matuke,
Eva Jean Minto,
Martin Orlenic and
Andrew Skero.
Also elected were auditors:
Dorothy Hays,
Doris Orlenic and
Martin Orlenic.
His Eminence, Archbishop Melchisedek, Archbishop of Pittsburgh and Western Pennsylvania, has given his blessing for the above to be sworn into office.
The swearing in will occur after Divine Liturgy, Sunday, April 1, 2018.
Diocesan Vespers
Diocesan Lenten Vespers will be served this Sunday (March 11) - 5 PM - at the St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Allison Park.
Archbishop released from hospital
This morning the chancellor, Very Rev. William J. Evansky, announced that His Eminence, Archbishop Melchisedek, was discharged from the hospital late yesterday and is resting at his residence in Cranberry Township.
The archbishop thanks everyone for their prayers.
The chancellor asks that while the archbishop recuperates any pressing concerns should be direct to him at this Ambridge office either by email or by telephone (724) 266 5009. Or by contacting Omelan Mycyk who will be in the chancery this Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday between the hours of 08:30 and 14:30 hrs.
Lenten Retreat: March 10, 2018
There will be a parish retreat, Saturday March 10, 2018, at St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, Allison Park, and the dean of the cathedral is inviting all clergy and their parishioners to attend. All are most welcome!
Saint Tikhon's Seminary's Mission Choir will be visiting the Cathedral, singing the Divine Services for the weekend of the Veneration of the Precious Cross, Sunday, March 11, 2018.
The theme for retreat will be: "Let us draw near in faith and love, and become communicants of life eternal".
The retreat will be offering consideration and encouragement to use the Great Lenten season to draw nearer to our Lord, Jesus Christ, drawing from resources such as Matthew 6, Great Lenten service texts, and ascetical writings, to elevate this theme's focus from Great Lent to a life-long journey!
The retreat's leader will be Very Rev. Archpriest Steven Voytovich, Dean of St. Tikhon's Orthodox Theological Seminary.
Archbishop Melchisedek admitted to hospital
The Chancellor, Very Rev. Archpriest William J. Evansky has advised that His Eminence, Archbishop MELCHISEDEK was hospitalised late last Tuesday evening to an area hospital for observation after not feeling well at the Cranberry Twp. chancery.
His Eminence was unwell the week before and did not attend the archdiocesan meeting
